MANSFIELD - The Endless Mountains Transportation Authority has received numerous reports of customers experiencing problems when attempting to call the authority here.
Calls to the Tioga County toll-free number, 1-866-242-3484, have ended with the line going dead, extended ringing with no answers or difficulty hearing on either incoming or outgoing phone lines, according to the authority.
Upon contacting the phone carrier for that number, a call-routing problem from various third-party long distance carriers into rural areas such as Mansfield was discovered.
Customers experiencing that problem also should contact their telephone service provider, the agency said.
The authority's other office number in Tioga County, which is not toll-free, is 659-5330.
