James R. Hawley, 79, of 342 Jordan Ave., Montoursville, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at ManorCare Health Services, North.
He was born Dec. 30, 1932, in Montoursville, a son of Harry G. Sr. and Emma G. Derr Hawley.
James was a Korean War Navy veteran and retired from Weather Control Roofing Company. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, the John Burrows Historical Society, a life time member of the Montoursville Fire Company and had served on the Montoursville Borough Council for 16 years.

He was predeceased by a sister, Colleen Fullmer and a brother, Harry "Sonny" Hawley.
James is survived by his wife, the former E. LaVon Foust, with whom he would have celebrated 55 years of marriage on June 29; a son, Robert J. (Mitzi) of Hilton Head, S.C.; a sister, Constance Steinbacher of Montoursville; and a grandson, Collin.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with Rev. David Letscher officiating. Interment will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.
