Newberry received home runs from Ethan Striker and Damon Clark and defeated South Williamsport, 23-1 in Major Baseball elimination game on Thursday night. Newberry had 13 hits.
Nolan Ott doubled in the bottom of the eighth inning, breaking a tie and giving Montoursville a 6-5 win over Old Lycoming.
In 9-10 Softball, Jersey Shore defeated South Williamsport, 11-0, to advance in the losers' bracket of the District 12 tournament. Alexis Young led Jersey Shore's offense, going 4 for 4.
In Junior Baseball, Keith Batkowski, Curtis Miller, Devin Singer and Mitchell Rothrock each had two hits to lead Montoursville to a 10-7 win against East Lycoming in the District 12 tournament.
Andrew Malone went 4 for 5 and pitched five strong innings as the Loyalsock blanked Muncy, 12-0.
The West End 15 year olds open District 4 tournament play in Clearfield tonight at 5:30 against Clearfield. West End is the two-time defending champion.
