A new airport terminal is needed? You should say a new pork project is needed. Since the last terminal pork barrel money project which planned for three airlines but got only the one existing company, the plane service has been reduced 40 percent, the planes, which fly over my home are frequently late, and the 10,000 people a month who used to travel is now I believe less than 4,000, we fly only to Philadelphia. When I came in 1959 we had direct flights to New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Cleveland, and Buffalo.
And there are a higher percentage of cancelled flights. You can't depend . A snow flake and the airport closes; a rain storm and everything flies late, and as for extra capacity for busy periods - forget it.
Of course all these shortcomings will be eliminated by replacing our terminal building, which was enlarged 10 or 15 years ago. That "improvement" was "celebrated" but reducing flights 40 percent. Spend that $13 million to improve plane service and not a far underutilized terminal.
