Announcement has been made of the engagement of Julie Kathryn Raque and Joseph John Kurcz, both of Chicago, Ill.
A Sept. 8 wedding at Holy Name Cathedral, Chicago, is being planned.
Raque is the daughter of Kathy and Mark Raque, Portsmouth, N.H., formerly of Loyalsock Township. She graduated from Loyalsock Township High School in 2002. She received a bachelor's degree in psychology from University of Kentucky, Lexington, in 2006, and a master's degree in pharmacology from University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio. She is employed by Horizon Pharma Inc., Chicago, as a marketing product manager.

Kurcz is the son of Barbara and Edwin Kurcz, Niles, Ill. He graduated from Notre Dame High School, Niles, Ill., in 2002 and received a bachelor's degree in building and construction management from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind., in 2006. He is employed by Midwest Applied Solutions, Chicago, as a sales engineer.
