A four-run sixth inning allowed the Williamsport Crosscutters to edge the Auburn Doubledays on Friday night, 5-4.
The Cutters (7-5) trailed 3-1 entering the sixth inning before RBI hits by Tyler Greene and Roman Quinn tied the score. Chace Numata gave Williamsport its first lead with a two-run single.
Auburn scored a single run in the seventh, but the Crosscutters' bullpen threw scoreless innings in the eighth and ninth to secure the win.
Quinn, Greene and Yan Olmo all had two hits for the Crosscutters. Numata drive in three runs and now has seven for the season.
Reliever Andre Kinder pitched 2 2/3 innings of relieve and picked up his first win of the season. Geoff Broussard threw three innings and earned his first save. Kinder allowed just one hit and struck out two.
