For 25 years, the Leadership Lycoming program of the Williamsport-Lycoming Chamber of Commerce has been churning the community's new wave of decision makers.
The program marked its quarter century of excellence recently, a span that has 650 people graduate following a 12-month period in which they learn from A to Z what makes this community tick so that they can become part of that process.
In a perfect turn, the program's leaders marked the first quarter century by handing out their first Community Service Award to Donna Bastian, who has been with the program from its beginnings.
And for good measure, the award was named for Bastian.
The best hope for the community is that Leadership Lycoming will be as successful in its next quarter century as it has been in its first.
