SUNBURY - The third annual Ta-Ta Trot, a 5K run/walk, will be held at 8:30 a.m. July 14 during the Sunbury Celebration on North Fourth Street.
The event will benefit the Geisinger Marie Lamey Fund and Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition.
A registration fee will be charged and participants may register by calling 214-5066 or visiting www.tatatrot.com.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three runners in each age and gender category. Team prizes will be given for the most money raised, most trotters and best dressed. All participants will be eligible for door prizes donated by area businesses.
The trot will be covered live by a local radio station starting at 7 a.m.
Dr. Victor Vogel, director of Geisinger's Cancer Institute, and Dr. James Evans, Geisinger breast surgeon, will speak during the opening ceremonies at 8:15.
Attendance is expected to number greater than 1,000 people. Last year, 655 trotters raised $14,274.54 for breast health awareness.
