New charges filed against constable

TOWANDA - State police have filed new charges against the state constable charged last month with prostitution.

The new charges, according to police, involve alleged acts against nine individuals aged 17 to 48 allegedly committed while serving as a state constable.

According to police, Francis Salatino III, 51, of Gillett, was charged Wednesday with one count of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, oane count of unlawful restraint, one count of prostitution and related offenses, one count of criminal trespass, two counts of false imprisonment, nine counts of official oppression, one count of solicitation while impersonating a public servant, one count of harassment and one count of furnishing alcohol to minors.

Salatino was released on $15,000 cash bail and his preliminary hearing is set for July 11.
