I rather enjoyed the witty letter regarding Jesus not being allowed to vote, as he had no birth certificate or identification. I suspect that he could obtain a birth certificate based on a synagogue record of his birth, just as my grandmother did using her family Bible's record of her own birth. Of course, there would be the matter of photo ID. That might be difficult since the Shroud of Turin wouldn't fit in his wallet. I do believe that the Savior would feel very much at home in the U.S. After all, he was accustomed to a government that started out as a republic and morphed into an empire, where the legislative branch was constantly bypassed and overruled by the executive branch. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
