A sexual offender, who was required to report his address to authorities and failed to do so, was sentenced to 40 months to seven years in state prison in Lycoming County Court by Judge Marc F. Lovecchio Tuesday.
Donald Kenneth Shaffer Jr., 43, formerly of Cogan Station, didn't update his address with state police within 48 hours when he moved to Danville last November, according to Old Lycoming Township police.
Shaffer, listed as a lifetime offender on the Megan's Law registry, served a 20-year state prison term for a 1989 conviction on felony forcible and statutory rape charges.
He was released from that sentence May 27, 2010, according to court records.
