Cameron Wood tossed two shutout innings and drove in four runs as Montoursville defeated South Williamsport, 12-2, in District 12 Minor Baseball Tuesday. Wood went a perfect 2 for 2 at the plate.
Montoursville hosts Keystone at 6 tonight, with the winner playing Newberry for the title Friday at Lamade Stadium.
In Minor Softball, Montoursville overcame a two-run deficit, scoring nine runs over the last four innings, to defeat Clinton, 10-3. Taylor Shoeman, Madison Shaffer and Jaylynn Cochran all finished with two hits. Montoursville advanced to the title game Friday at Volunteer Stadium vs. Brandon.
In Junior Softball, Rebecca Caputo went 2-for-3 at the plate and earned the win on the mound for Jersey Shore in a 8-6 win over Montoursville to open the best-of-3 series. Rachael Duda had two hits while Morgan Bauder added another hit for Jersey Shore in the win.
