Clifford M. Slater, 82, of Mansfield, Pa., went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa. He was born Aug. 8, 1929, in Rummerfield, Pa., a son of Arthur and Sarah (Howey) Slater. Clifford was the husband of Mary Edna (Adams) Slater. He was a retired Sales Manager for Prudential. Clifford was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Mansfield, where he served as deacon. He was a 50 year member of the Mansfield Friendship Lodge No. 247 of F&AM. He was a founder of Partners in Progress where he served on the board for 16 years.
He enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, gardening, playing cards and games. He was a real sports enthusiast.
Clifford is survived by his wife, Mary Edna, with whom he shared 62 years of wedded bliss; fours sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Susan Slater of Nichols, N.Y., Mike and Kathy Slater of Mansfield, Pa., Danny Slater of Wellsboro, Pa., Matt Slater and fiance, Sheri of Harrison Valley, Pa.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lorraine and John Pollock of Mainesburg, Pa., Cindy and Mark Johnson of Newnan, Ga., Barb and Frank Sargent of Mansfield, Pa.; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Angel Slater; brothers, Richard and Gordon and sister, Genevieve Kitchen.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, Pa. and Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, E. Wellsboro St., Mansfield, Pa.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Stuart Hague officiating. Burial will be in Bradford Co. Memorial Park, Bradford, Pa.
