Announcement has been made of the engagement of Kaitlyn Holland, Newton, and Joseph Eckard, Williamsport.
A Sept. 29, 2012, wedding in Perkasie is being planned.
Holland is the daughter of Renita and Joseph Holland, Newtown. She graduated from Council Rock High School, Newtown, in 2003 and graduated from the second degree nursing program at Penn State University in 2010. She is employed by Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md., as a registered nurse.

Eckard is the son of Wendy and Andrew Eckard, Williamsport. He graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School in 2004 and received a bachelor's degree in energy business and finance from Penn State University in 2009. He is employed by Stryker Sustainability Solutions, Baltimore, as a manager.
