Jennie Mae Hess, 75, of 2442 Rt. 405 Highway, Muncy, died Friday, July 6, 2012, at her home.
Born Oct. 25, 1936, in Montoursville, she was a daughter of the late Frank B. and Nina (Frezzer) Thomas. She and her husband of 53 years, Robert K. Hess, were married July 1, 1951. He preceded her in death November 3, 2004.
Jennie worked as an Aide at the Divine Providence Hospital from 1965 to 1972. She was also a volunteer at the Muncy Valley Hospital.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Kay and Louis Bennett, of Owensboro, Ky., and Karen Mae and Larry Davidson, of Jersey Shore; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Frank and Katherine Hess, of Picture Rocks; nine grandchildren, Todd Lyons, Jodi Lyons, Michele Edwards, Andrew Chadwick, Jennifer Bennett, Amanda Bennett, Kimberly Hess, Rebecca Hess and Robert Hess; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, at Grenoble's, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Officiating will be her pastor, Rev. Jane O'borski, of Christ United Methodist Church, Hughesville.
The family will provide the flowers, and suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Lycoming County Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
