In response to concerns that crime is on the rise in parts of the city not yet covered by neighborhood watch groups, a meeting is planned in Williamsport Regional Medical Center's cafeteria next week.
According to Sally Wiegand, of the city's public safety committee, the meeting will focus on areas of Campbell, High and Louisa streets.
It also will cover the neighborhoods along Rural, First, Second, Third and Fourth avenues, she said.
"We want to start a neighborhood watch group for those areas of the city," Wiegand said.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. July 17 in the cafeteria's "B" conference room.
To get there, enter through the former entrance to the medical facility on Rural Avenue and look for signs to the cafeteria.
