Newberry fell in its Section 3 Minor Baseball opener, 15-5 to SPN of the Pottsville area on Tuesday. Dakota Hill went 2 for 3 for Newberry but also took the loss.
In Legion baseball, Montoursville scored five runs in the first two innings and cruised to a 7-1 win over Hughesville. Dalton Young had a double and triple for Montoursville.
