Ronald C. Remick

Ronald C. Remick, 83, of 3620 Linn St., Cogan Station, died peacefully in his home on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, and went home to be with his Lord.

Ron and his wife, the former Ruth E. Shaffer, observed their 57th wedding anniversary on May 27, 2012.

Ron was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, where he formerly was a Lay Worship Leader. He loved to study the Bible.

VETERAN

Ron was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW Post 7863, DuBoistown, and the Korean War Veterans.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and reading. He loved all things to do with the ocean. He also enjoyed sharing stories of his racing days, his army life and his childhood. He was also known to "spin a good yarn."

Ron retired in 1993 from John Powell Chevrolet, where he was the head Mercedes Benz auto mechanic.

Born Aug. 14, 1928, in Lock Haven, he was the son of Oliver and Rhea Kling Remick. He was raised by his father and his stepmother, Jane Remick.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters, Judy (William) Evans of Cogan Station and Gina (Frank) Green of Renovo; brothers, James and Marlin Remick, both of Trout Run, and Keith Gay in New York; sister, Connie Winters in Florida; grandchildren, Roni Lynn (Jeremy) Jones, Frank Green Jr., Travis (Heather) Evans and Joel Evans; great-grandchildren, Luke, Jessica, Kacie and Vanden.

There will be visitation at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 1877 St. Michael's Road, this Saturday, July 14, from 10 a.m. until noon, at which time there will be a graveside service in St. Michael's Cemetery with the Rev. Detlef Huckfeldt officiating.
