Tennis tournament set in Mifflinburg
MIFFLINBURG - The 16th annual Burke P. Derr-Karl A. Servinsky Memorial Tennis Tournament will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Maple Street tennis courts.
Men's singles will begin at 9 a.m. with the finals starting at noon on Sunday. Awards will be given to the top three people in each event.
All participants are asked to make a donation and a can of either Penn or Wilson tennis balls. Registration deadline is today at 7 p.m.

Garden club plans events
DuBOISTOWN - The DuBoistown Garden Club has announced the following upcoming events.
A progressive dinner will be held July 19, beginning at 5 p.m. at the home of Pat Kaczmarek 603 Kane St., South Williamsport, with hostesses Carolyn Cosentine, Darlene Stannert, Ruth Lamade and Joanne Reeder.
The meal continues at 6 p.m. at the home of Sharon Thompson, 365 Furey St., South Williamsport, with hostesses Isabel Shumbat, Linda Kopysciansky, Saline Bischoff and Bev Stobel.
At 7:30 p.m., the meal will conclude at the home of Lee Bryan, 332 Union Ave., with hostesses Cora Lynn Jordan, Judy Kolb, Bernadette Servey and Gretchen Mangiardi.
Also, the group will take a field trip to Mansfield on July 21 for a workshop hosted by Master Gardener Anne Vayansky and a tour of four gardens in Mansfield.
The group will leave at 8:15 a.m. and reservations may be made by calling Rita at 971-6126.
There is a fee to attend the field trip and workshop.
