Mr., Mrs. Jack E. Fisher observe 60th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Jack E. Fisher, Williamsport, observed their 60th wedding anniversary July 14, 2012.

They were married by the Rev. Shaheen in Williamsport. They are members of Nisbet United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Fisher, the former Betty Lou Shafer, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of the late E. Leola "Babe" and Herbert T. Shafer. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1950 and retired from Wundies.

Mr. Fisher, a native of Jersey Shore, is the son of the late Maggie V. and Claire H. Fisher. He graduated from South Williamsport High School in 1949 and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Portion Pack Food Services Inc., as a truck driver.

They are the parents of four daughters, Kathy L. Herb, Valdosta, Ga.; Lynda K. Wilson, Trout Run; and Betsy L. Black and Amy M., both of Williamsport; and two sons, John E., Williamsport; and Robert G., Manchester, N.H.

There are 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In honor of their anniversary, a party at the couples' home and river lot was held July 14.
