Announcement has been made of the engagement of Sammi Alters and Alan Swigart, both of Williamsport.
An Aug. 25 wedding at Garden View Baptist Church is being planned.
Alters is the daughter of Laura and Neil Alters, Northumberland. She graduated from Shikellamy High School, Sunbury, in 2002. She is employed by Hope Enterprises.

Swigart is the son of Kathleen Swigart, Loyalsock Township, and the late Dennis Swigart. He graduated from Loyalsock Township High School in 2002 and received an associate degree in paralegal studies from Kaplan University in 2011. He is employed by AutoTrakk.
