Norbert Leo Crouse, 87, of Williamsport, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Norbert was born Feb. 26, 1925, at Shade Gap, Pa., to the late Charles and Rose (Mason) Crouse. He was preceded in death by a daughter, June Butler; a stepson, Bob Knittle; three siblings, Charles Crouse, Rev. Bill Crouse and Augustus Crouse; and a grandson, James Brown.
He was a World War II Army veteran having received The Good Conduct Medal; The Purple Heart; The Medal With Distinguished Unit-Badge and European African Middle Eastern Service Ribbon.

VETERAN
He was retired from GTE-Sylvania in Williamsport and was a member of its Quarter Century Club. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 104 in Montoursville and its Three Quarter Century Club; VFW Post 3428, Muncy, Pa.; Social Order 40 & 8 Post 382, Williamsport and Life member of the Democratic Club, Williamsport.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah R. (Bower) Crouse; three children, Jane Evans, Bloomsburg, Norbert L. "Doc" Crouse Jr., Jersey Shore, Pa., Anita L. Brown, Loysville; four stepchildren, David Knittle, Debbie Smith, John Knittle, Liz Roehbaugh; four siblings, Olive Snyder, Mary Crouse, Helen Crouse, Owen Crouse; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside military service will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Montoursville Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Edwin St., Williamsport, PA 17701, with Rev. Shane Kirby officiating. Fellowship with the family will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
