Carolyn enjoyed sports and made many friends as a fitness instructor. She was an avid racquetball player for many years and organized local tournaments. Carolyn traveled often, mostly to the Caribbean, where she loved the sunny beaches and warm ocean. She enjoyed performances at the Community Arts Center and in November she was honored with that organization's Directors' Chair Award, together with her husband.

Born March 16, 1948, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of W. Harlan and Ruth McClelland Griffith.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, is a brother, Donald Griffith, of Celebration, Fla.

On Monday, July 16, a celebration of Carolyn's life will be held at noon at the Community Arts Center, 220 W. Fourth St., with the Rev. John K. Manno officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until noon Monday. Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Penn College Foundation, One College Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701, where a scholarship will be established in Carolyn's memory.
