HARRISBURG - Lycoming County Medical Society, in conjunction with The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, recently announced the availability of the 2012 Lycoming County Medical Society Scholarship.
Multiple $2,500 awards are available to first- through fourth-year medical students who are residents of Lycoming County and enrolled full time in an accredited U.S. medical school.
Lycoming County Medical Society established the scholarship within the foundation and presented the first award in 2002.
Contributions from Lycoming County physicians made the fund possible. The society provides education, networking and legislative support for member physicians.
The foundation, a nonprofit affiliate of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, sustains the future of medicine in Pennsylvania by providing programs that support medical education, physician health, and excellence in practice.
