Pariba Little League from Willemstad, Curacao, won all six of its games in the Caribbean Region Tournament by at least seven runs to earn the region's berth in the 2012 Little League World Series. The eight-day, 10-team tournament concluded Saturday in Guayana, Puerto Rico.
Pariba LL, which played in the LLWS?in 2001-02, beat a team from the host city of Radames Lopez LL, 10-1, in a title game between the top two seeds out of pool play.
The Series?runs Aug. 16-26 at Lamade and Volunteer Stadiums. Pariba LL?plays in the tournament's first game against Japan.
The Series will use the same modified double-elimination format as last year with the teams split into two eight-team brackets a U.S. bracket and an International bracket.
The Japanese and Latin American regions are expected to be decided later this weekend.
The U.S. regional finals run Aug. 9-12 on ESPN?channels.
