A city man taken into custody on a warrant from Berks County faces additional charges after 50 baggies of heroin were discovered in his underwear as he was being committed to the Lycoming County Prison, according to city police.
Reginald Johnny Morton, 26, of 73 Washington Blvd., was arrested on the warrant in the 600 block of Fifth Avenue about 9:20 p.m. on July 5. No details were available about the nature of the charges.
The packets of heroin were found on Morton as a corrections officer was searching him, police said. He has since been arraigned before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley on charges of possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. He was recommitted in lieu of $35,000 bail.
