Raymond E. York, 79, formerly of Trout Run, died Monday, July 16, 2012, at The Gatehouse Hospice following an extended illness.
Ray and his wife, the former Doris J. Burkholder, would have observed their 47th wedding anniversary in October 2012.
Ray attended the Heshbon Park United Methodist Church, was an Army veteran, and a member of American Legion Post 104, Montoursville.

VETERAN
Ray enjoyed fishing, dancing and playing cards. He retired from Lycoming Heating Services and had previously worked for B.F. Goodrich in Los Angeles.
Born Feb. 3, 1933, in Oklahoma City, Okla., he was the son of Lonnie E. and Gertrude E. Duncan York.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a stepson, James P. Shook of Huntingdon; stepdaughter, Sally A. Shaffer of Cogan Station; brothers, Robert York of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Ronald York of Norfolk, Va.; sister, Mary Crozier in California; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Ray was predeceased by a brother, Lee York and a sister, Lucille Daffon.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Knight-Confer's, 1914 Memorial Ave., with the Rev. Dr. David A. Keller officiating. There will be a visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Twin Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made in his name to The Gatehouse Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
