John J. Watkins Jr., 58, of Williamsport, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Born June 27, 1954, in Wilmington, Del., he was a son of John J. Sr. and Marguerite V. (Matoni) Watkins. John married Alma J. Danley on Oct. 15, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Mary H. Watkins; brother, Charles Watkins; and sister-in- law, Tamara Watkins.
John was the maintenance director at Roseview Center for 16 years, and owned John Watkins Electrical. He was a member of the Newberry Independent League. John enjoyed playing cards, was a Penn State fan, and never missed watching the Little League World Series.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are five brothers, Robert Watkins, Nicholas Watkins, Ralph (Catherine) Meier, Daniel (Nancy) Meier and Stanley (Jean) Meier, all of Delaware; two sisters, Jennifer Meier and Marguerite (Mark) Watkins-Gott, both of Delaware; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. A funeral service will follow at 4:30 p.m.
