Announcement has been made of the engagement of Ashley J. Phillips and Travis M. Karstetter, both of Jersey Shore.
A Jan. 18, 2014, wedding is being planned.
Phillips is the daughter of Angela and Eldon Phillips, Jersey Shore. She received a GED from Goodwill Learning Institute, Pittsburgh, in 2008 and received a license as a certified nursing assistant from SusqueView Nursing Home in 2010. She is employed by First Quality, McElhattan, as a feeder packer.

Karstetter is the son of Roy and Tina Karstetter, Alabama, and Connie Karstetter, Jersey Shore. He graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School in 2008. He is employed by Keystone Friction Hinge as a certified tool and dye maker.
