Robert L. Weigel, 78, of Hughesville, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2012, at the Muncy Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit, after a lengthy illness.
Born Dec. 30, 1933, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Calvin J. and Mary E. (Stewart) Weigel. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Weigel Newcomer.
Bob attended the Williamsport Area High School and served in both the active duty Army and Army Reserves. He retired from Sylvania in Montoursville. Bob attended the Hughesville Friends Church, Hughesville. Being an avid dog lover, Bob enjoyed walking daily for miles with his dogs prior to his hospitalization.

Bob is survived by his son, Robert P. Weigel and his wife, Cristy, of Harrisburg; his son, Mark A. Weigel of Ft.Worth, Fla.; two grandsons, Nathan W. Weigel of Moncks Corner, S.C. and Matthew A. Weigel of Harrisburg; three great-grandchildren, Madison, Deacon and Caleb Weigel of Harrisburg; a brother, Calvin Weigel of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and close friend, Sandra Braden.
Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Ft. Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hughesville Friends Church, 137 S. Third St., Hughesville, PA 17737.
