A South Williamsport man entered a guilty plea Monday in U.S. Middle District Court here to possession of child pornography.

Ronny Getchen, of 226 Westland Ave., entered the plea before Judge Christopher C. Conner.

City Police Agent Ronald Bachman along with County Det. William Weber began an investigation in August 2009 that led to the charges of receiving child pornography and possession of child pornography.

Police seized five computers at the home, according to the court records.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Wayne Samuelson represented the prosecution at the plea hearing but the case was managed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Simmers.

Part of the plea agreement was dismissal of the first count of receiving child pornography.

Conner said sentencing in early November, Samuelson said.
