JS softball falls in states

Carbino Club of Dickson City defeated Jersey Shore in the Junior Softball state tournament, 3-1, on Thursday afternoon. Jersey Shore took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning only to see Carbino Club, Dickson City score three in the sixth to win.

Jersey Shore allowed only three hits, all of which were singles by three different players. Lydia Yorks led Jersey Shore with two hits while Jess Willetts, Katie Cowfer, Jess Allen and Rebecca Caputa each had one.

Cowfer and Allen combined on the mound for Jersey Shore in the loss.

Jersey Shore plays again today against Bristol Boro at 2:30 p.m.
