A 20-year-old South Williamsport man has been arrested for allegedly attempting to steal items from cars in the borough during the early morning hours of July 17, according to borough police.
Mikael J. Floyd, of 443 E. Second Ave., was seen by neighbors allegedly entering a parked vehicle on West Bluebird Alley about 7 a.m. It is alleged that he also attempted to get into two other vehicles, police said.
Within the hour, Floyd was taken into custody in the city at First and Maynard streets, police said. He had on him a switchblade knife as well as a wine cooler, which he said he took from his parents' home.
Floyd has been charged with possession of prohibitive offensive weapon, attempted theft from motor vehicle, conspiracy and underage drinking. Following his arraignment before District Gary A. Whiteman, he was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $2,500 bail.
