The Lumberjack Triathlon, organized by and benefitting the Williamsport Area Swim Club and the Williamsport Area High School Booster Club, will take place at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 12.
The 2012 inaugural event features a chip-timed out-and-back course beginning at the West Branch Boat Club in DuBoistown. Designed to highlight the valley's scenic beauty, the route features an 800 yard open-water swim in the Susquehanna River followed by 13.7 mile bike and 5K run segments along paved country roads with river and mountain views.
The event is sponsored in part by support from Roe-Ada Well Support and features awards, giveaways, door prizes and T-shirts.
