David G. Simmons, loving father and grandfather, 71, of Morris, Pa., passed away July 22, 2012, at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, N.Y.
He was born Aug. 21, 1940, in Rockland Township, Berks County, Pa., the son of George and Leah Sanders Simmons.
David was a retiree of Dana Corp., Reading, Pa., and since 1995 was the head maintenance man at Twin Streams Campground, Morris, Pa.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and an active member of the Morris Fire Dept. and Ambulance Association. David is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Robin Simmons of Reading, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Dennis Schappell of Mohrsville, Pa.; five grandsons and one granddaughter. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Jean Adam, in 2006.
Friends are invited to call at the Morris-Blackwell United Methodist Church, Saturday, Aug. 4, from 10 to 11 a.m. A memorial service will follow there Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Sherri Butters officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in David's memory may be made to the Morris Fire Co. Morris, PA 16938.
