Ashley Dawin Lyddic, 32, of 923 Tucker St., has been charged with theft after allegedly stealing pain medication from a woman for whom she was supposed to be caring.
On June 27, Deborah Elise Wells called state police to report that her daytime caregiver, Lyddic, had gone to the pharmacy to fill Wells' prescription for hydrocodone. When Lyddic returned, she put the medication on Wells' bedroom counter, police said. Wells told police this was unusual because they usually counted out the pills and put them into a lockbox.
Wells and her overnight caregiver counted out the pills and found 10 were missing, according to police.
Upon questioning, Lyddic admitted to stealing the medication, according to court records.
Lyddic waived her preliminary hearing and will face arraignment Aug. 29.
