Need for heroin leads 2 men to prison

August 1, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Matthew Thomas Clark and Zachary James DiMaio committed two burglaries, looking for items they could sell to get the drug that they craved, state police alleged in court papers.

Clark, 25, of 452 Meadow View Drive, Warrensville, and DiMaio, 22, of Quakertown, first broke into a home in the 1900 block of Inverness Road in Loyalsock Township, but soon left after "finding nothing worth taking," police said. One the same day, July 3, the two went to 2005 Heim Hill Road in the township and stole a 46-inch flat screen television that they "bartered for 18 bags of heroin" from a dealer in South Williamsport, police said. The two men then split the bags between themselves, police said.

Clark and DiMaio, both admitted heroin addicts, were arraigned last week before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman on two counts each of burglary, felony trespassing, criminal mischief, conspiracy and one count each of theft and receiving stolen property. They were committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail each.
