August 1, 2012
From staff reports , Williamsport Sun-Gazette

The Williamsport Outlaws announced on Tuesday they will serve as an affiliate of the ECHL Elmira Jackals.

The affiliation agreement is for the 2012-2013 season with the focus on player development. The Jackals serve as the ECHL affiliate of the NHL Ottawa Senators.

"We're very excited to affiliate with the Elmira Jackals and work with general manager Matt Hufnagal and head coach Pat Bingham," said Outlaws president/head coach Chris Firriolo. "They have a long rich tradition and history there and it's a great opportunity to work together not only on the player development side but from the marketing side of the business as we prepare and develop our players for the next level."

Hufnagal mentioned the positives the affiliation brings.

"This affiliation is a great opportunity for both organizations," said Hufnagal. "The geographical proximity between Elmira and Williamsport has tremendous benefits from the player development side and marketing and sales side. We're glad to assist the Outlaws and Federal Hockey League in whatever way the Jackals can.''

The Outlaws, a member of the Federal Hockey League open their season on Oct. 24 against the Dayton Devils at Bowman Field.
