WELLSBORO - Wilson B. Doran Jr., 85, of Country Terrace Assisted Living Facility, 1919 Shumway Hill Road, was charged by state police with aggravated assault and simple assault after he allegedly hit Kenneth Whitney on the head with a bed slat because his television was too loud.
Doran hit Whitney three times with a 36-inch long, 1- by 4-inch bed slat, causing lacerations to his arm and head on June 20, according to documents filed at District Judge Rob Repard's office.
He was jailed in lieu of $5,000 bail and released. His preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 14.
