James H. Orso, 80, of Williamsport, died Monday, July 30, 2012, in the Williamsport Regional Medical Center Emergency Room.
James was born Aug. 22, 1931, in Williamsport, the son of the late Joseph F. Orso Sr. and Flora Schmilafski Orso. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. He was employed as a security guard for Staimen Brothers Inc. and Pennsylvania College of Technology. James was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his companion, Catherine L. Hill Orso of this city; a brother, Joseph F. (Patricia) Orso Jr. and Joanne E. Orso, both of Williamsport. There are 12 nieces and eight nephews surviving him. He was preceded in death by sisters, Kathryn L. Thomas and Barbara A. Orso.

There will be no visitation and a graveside service will be held at Montoursville Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. Msgr. Stephen McGough will officiate.
The family will provide the flowers and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lycoming County S.P.C.A, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
