The persecution of Joe Paterno is very disturbing to me. His biggest verified offense is he was someone well known at Penn State. A head was needed on a pole and it had to be someone everyone recognized.
The largest disturbing part is no action, other than investigation, should have been taken until after the sandusky trial. There was no proven crime until he was proven guilty. What if he had not been proven guilty? Would all the accusations be taken back? The damage to peoples' lives was done. This whole affair seems to have been trial by, and appeasement of the media.
Where are the two people who were witnesses? Where is the outrage toward them? I think the chain of events have been a travesty that will set a bad precedent for the future.
Innocent until proven guilty!
