Our mayor has done a good job in bringing growth to Williamsport. He brought us Kohl's with the help of City Council, revitalized the downtown with many new buildings and encouraged the reconstruction of others. Susquehanna Health Systems and the proposed new YMCA to be colocated with it, adding to the quality life in our community The Crosscutters have been a real asset to the community. My wife and I attend several games a year.
We see Williamsport as a thriving metropolis with a great deal of potential to be even better. Let's all get behind our mayor, City Council, our Lycoming County Commissioners who support the White Deer Golf Complex and make Williamsport a multi- entertainment venue. This will draw more people to the city of Williamsport and to our restaurants, our downtown stores, our beautiful Community Arts Center for great shows which we have season tickets to and our two colleges which offer sports entertainment, concerts and great classes.
Let's get behind our new hockey arena and our new hockey team the Outlaws. Attend some hockey games and if you don't skate already learn to skate like I did at age 55 and enjoy the ice. It sure will make winter a lot more fun.
Instead of being a naysayer be a doer and enjoyer. Do we have problems in Williamsport? Sure we do, but so does every other community in the state and country. I commend our gas industry for being a part of our community and helping us to be nationally recognized as the 8th fastest developing community of its size.
