This letter is in response to Marty McCormick's letter July 28. Since the Tsunami in Japan, Nuclear power is not mentioned in any way or form on radio, TV, or newscasts. Marty McCormick is typical of our college-indoctrinated students echoing their professor's liberal, socialist environmental opinion.
No one asked what the cost per kilowatt hour is for solar, wind, or geothermal energy. Not to mention the wasted money on companies such as Solyndra and Geothermal Power Sources. The taxpayer is not to worry though, the Socialist's answer is to print more worthless dollars and borrow ourselves into oblivion. Nuclear power is one of a few sources of viable, environmentally friendly, cost effective sources of sustainable energy.
The nuclear power industry needs to adopt adding additional units (2 or 3) to existing online nuclear plants such as Georgia Power's Vogtle units, South Carolina's Electric and Gas Co. units at Jenkinsville S.C. and Watts Bar in Tennessee.
