I could not agree more with the letter from last week regarding the city needing a real bookstore.
The Barnes & Noble in Lewisburg is a treasure for area residents.
I love how the building combines a great place to buy books and sit and have coffee. The store offers weekly classes and programs and also incorporates Lewisburg's history into the six level building that is simply stunning.
Best of all you can go in at any time and see families buying books, older people having coffee and college students studying. It has such a great vibe that is full of life.
Why can't we have a store like that downtown? The city claims to be a college town but it never was...a store like this could be that bridge and a great asset to the city.
I go Lewisburg at least once a week to buy books, have coffee and surround myself with a real book paradise.
If the mayor and the local colleges want to help the city, start with this. Please.
