Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Paternostro, Williamsport, observed their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 2, 2012.
They were married by the Rev. Leonard Gillis at St. Boniface Church. They are members of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.
Mrs. Paternostro, the former Jean Oyster, is a native of Lewisburg. She is the daughter of the late Mary and Robert Oyster. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1952. She was employed by the Doctors Business Bureau as a switchboard operator and Dairy Queen, South Williamsport.

Mr. Paternostro, a native of Williamsport, is the son of the late Enise and Angelo Paternostro. He graduated from the former St. Mary High School, now St. John Neumann Regional Academy, in 1950. He served in the Naval Reserve from 1950 to 1977 and retired as a chief petty officer. He also retired from Shop Vac Corp. as vice president.
They are the parents five daughters, AnnMarie Root, Manheim; Cindy Allegrucci, Mesa, Ariz.; Mary Sutkins and Linda Moyer, both of Williamsport; and Tina, DuBoistown; and four sons, Joseph R., New Market, Md.; Thomas and Michael, both of South Williamsport; and the late Robert.
There are 10 grandchildren, one great-grandson and seven stepgrandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, a family gathering is being planned.
