Clair Junior Schrack, 69, of 1610 Log Run Road, died on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at home. He and his wife, the former Evelyn Jean Strouse, recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on May 25 of this year.
Clair was born on Dec. 27, 1942, in Lock Haven and he was the son of Clair Schrack Sr., and Mollie B. Stover.
He was a 1961 graduate of Lock Haven High School and a 1963 graduate of Williamsport Technical Institute with a degree in Woodworking and Carpentry. He was employed by Fine Art Wood Carving and Bethlehem Steel, retiring in 2007. He was a master wood carver, and he enjoyed cooking and playing the fiddle. The most important thing to Clair was family. Clair was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, Annunciation Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey (Jeannie) Schrack, Williamsport; two daughters, Wendy Marie (John) Trenholm, Williamsport and Karen Kay (Wayne) Nissly, Severn, Md.; one brother, Ronald Schrack, Del.; six sisters, Shirley Grieb, Bellefonte, Beverly Fisher, Jersey Shore, Cindy Johnson, Warriors Mark, Vicki Staufer, Fla., Beth Smith, Charleston, S.C., Jill Schrack, S.C.; a sister-in-law, Sally Schrack, Montoursville; eight grandchildren, Charlene Schrack, Emily Schrack, Alexander Schrack, Melissa Trenholm, Meghan Trenholm, Christopher Nissly, Micah Nissly, Sarah Nissly; one great-granddaughter, Avery Lumbard, and a stepmother, Vera Schrack, Charleston, S.C. He was predeceased by his father and two brothers, James Sunday and Jerry Schrack.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, Annunciation Catholic Church, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, with Rev. David W. Bechtel officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Mount Carmel. Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kaufman Funeral Home, 2102 Northway Road, Williamsport.
The family will provide flowers and suggest that memorial contributions be made in Clair's name to Saint John Neumann Regional Academy, 901 Penn St., Williamsport, PA 17701, or to Susquehanna Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
