Alice Stephenson formerly of 2440 Linn St., Williamsport, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at Sycamore Manor. Alice was born in Williamsport on March 19, 1919. Alice was the oldest child of the late Melvin and Helen (Sprout) Quigel. She graduated from the Hepburnville High School. She briefly worked for the Williamsport Hospital and Grit Publishing before moving to Florida and residing there for many years.
Alice was preceded in death by husbands Ken Mattlfield Sr., Eli Garrido and R. Stephenson; her son, Ken Matttfield Jr.; her sister, Dorothy and brother, Edward.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann (Lester) Yeagle of Williamsport and son Paul (Mary) Garrido of Sarasota, Fla.; brothers, Earnest Quigel, Mich., Ray Quigel, Fla., William Quigel, Hatboro, Pa. and Edward Ade Sr. of Montoursville.
Alice is also survived by granddaughters, Lisa Phelps, Sarah Garrido, Elizabeth Huddly, Jessica Mattfield and grandsons, Stephen Yeagle and Joey Garrido.
She found such joy and delight in later years watching her four great-granddaughters, Olivia, Aly, Aliceanna and Amelia and entertain their "Grammy Tudie."
Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
