Frank L. Smith, 79, of Williamsport died Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at his home.
Born Sept. 1, 1932, in Leroy, Pa., he was a son of the late John and Jessie (Henry) Smith. He married Helen M. Prendergast and they celebrated 60 years together on Nov. 22, 2011.
Frank was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Williamsport Wire Rope, and had also worked at Bethlehem Steel and Grumman. Frank was a former manager of West End Baseball and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, the Philadelphia Phillies, and NASCAR.

VETERAN
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Michael F. (Sue) Smith, Christopher W. (Ann) Smith, and Ann M. (Donald) Ferris, all of Williamsport; a brother, Jack Smith of Florida; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Smith.
A viewing will be held on Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. In keeping with Frank's wishes, casual dress is requested.
Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery.
