Woman faces marijuana and shoplifting charges

August 6, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

A city woman who fled the Dollar General Store in South Williamsport with stolen merchandise was nabbed on nearby Curtin Street, according to borough police.

Lindsay Davis, 28, of 412 Rural Ave, bolted from the store with $31 worth of merchandise about 8:30 p.m. on July 25, police said. No stranger to law enforcement, Davis already has three prior shoplifting convictions.

When caught in the 200 block of Curtin Street, she allegedly had marijuana and drug paraphernalia in her possession, police said. All the stolen items were found in her purse.

Following her arraignment hours later before District Judge James G. Carn on felony shoplifting and drug charges, Davis was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.

She was taken from the prison on Thursday and arraigned again before Carn on another set of drug charges that stem from officers confiscating marijuana and drug paraphernalia from her apartment on June 21 when she was living at 937 Arch St., police said. She was recommitted in lieu of an additional $2,500 bail.
