Employee arrested for alleged threats

August 6, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

An employee at Beiter's Home Center on Route 15 in South Williamsport has been arrested for allegedly threatening to kill four co-workers at the business, according to borough police.

Christopher Martin, 38, of West Milton, allegedly threatened fellow-employees Joseph Taddeo, Seth A. Feaster, Mark J. Bieski and Corey Weaver on Monday afternoon, police said. He pointed to each one and said "I'm going kill you," Cpl. Carl Finnerty alleged in an affidavit.

The officer said Martin apparently was upset about being denied a workmen's compensation insurance claim for an undisclosed injury and that the situation was "creating financial hardship."

"Martin is also stressed out due to some health issues," Finnerty said.

Martin was arraigned hours later before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley on four counts each of terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment and one count disorderly conduct. He was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
